Embellished cross-stitch uses printed aida. It is stitched with the traditional X-shaped cross-stitch and other stitches. Usually the background is left unstitched, with the stitching being used to highlight objects in the foreground. It is therefore much faster to stitch than traditional cross-stitch work.
